Hand-tied Bandhani silk sarees
Bandhani is tie-dye at a scale that is hard to credit. Each dot in the pattern is a point of cloth pinched and bound with thread by hand before dyeing, then untied afterwards. A densely patterned saree can carry many thousands of individual ties, and the craft is measured by how fine and how even they are.
These are woven in pure silk, which takes the dye at its most saturated — the reason Bandhani is associated with the strongest reds, yellows and ombré gradations in Indian textiles. Every piece here sits in our Signature tier.
Because these are woven by hand, slight irregularities in the weave and small colour shifts between pieces are normal. They are the signature of a handloom, not a flaw.

What is Bandhani?
A tie-dye craft from Gujarat and Rajasthan in which thousands of tiny points of cloth are individually tied off with thread before dyeing, leaving undyed dots in the pattern.
Why are the dots slightly uneven?
Because each one was tied by hand. Evenness is a mark of skill, but perfect uniformity would mean it was printed rather than tied.
How should I care for it?
Dry clean only. Store folded in cotton or muslin away from direct light, and refold along a different line occasionally so the zari does not crease in one place.
