Handwoven pure silk Kanjivaram sarees
A Kanjivaram is the heaviest and most formal saree in Indian weaving. Woven in thick mulberry silk in and around Kanchipuram, its defining feature is the contrast border and pallu — traditionally woven separately and interlocked with the body so firmly that the join outlasts the cloth.
These are wedding sarees in the fullest sense: dense zari, substantial weight, and a drape that holds its shape rather than clinging. They are the most significant pieces we stock, and they are bought to be kept.
Because these are woven by hand, slight irregularities in the weave and small colour shifts between pieces are normal. They are the signature of a handloom, not a flaw.
