TEXTILES – WASH AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS
All our products are carefully curated from the weavers and artisans who have been practicing these skills through generations.
We request you to kindly adhere to these broad wash and care guidelines
- Dry Clean Only. Especially your Silk, Gold Khadi prints.
- Avoid spraying perfumes or any other liquids on zari products.
- Change fold regularly and store your heirloom textiles in pure cotton covers.
- Use warm Iron/Iron on medium heat (Zari/ Gold khadi print fabric to be ironed on the revere side)
- Organic/Natural dyed textiles may bleed. Always wash naturally dyed items separately from other coloured clothes, especially when new, to prevent colour transfer.
- For natural dyed and organic cottons use mild liquid soap designed for delicate fabrics and cold water to minimize colour fading and bleeding. Pls do not bleach.
- Turn garments inside out before washing to reduce friction on the dyed surface.
- Pre-treat your handwoven textiles with a fixative by soaking your garments in a diluted solution of vinegar or salt to help set the dye. Nowadays we also get ready to use colour stay dye fixative in the market and could be explored.
- Drip dry and dry in shade your naturally dyed organic or handwoven fabrics to minimize stress on fibres.
- Change fold regularly and store your heirloom textiles in pure cotton covers.
- Use warm Iron/Iron on medium heat (Zari fabric to be ironed on the revere side)
- Lastly, remember cutting down on the number of wash will greatly improve the life of your handwoven/handcrafted textiles.
