Hand-dyed Shibori silk saree
Shibori is resist dyeing by manipulation: the cloth is folded, pleated, twisted or bound, and the dye simply cannot reach where the cloth presses against itself. The pattern is a record of how the fabric was held.
This is a single-piece edit, woven in silk. Because the pattern comes from the fold rather than from a block or a screen, no two Shibori lengths repeat exactly.
